Richard Stefanacci, DO, MGH, MBA, AGSF, CMD

As an internist/geriatrician, Dr. Stefanacci has a longstanding interest and commitment to geriatric health, particularly the frail elderly and long-term care. Immediately after passage of the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA), Dr. Stefanacci began a one-year Health Policy Scholar’s post at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services where he assisted in the regulations and implementation of the Medicare prescription drug benefit and other components of MMA. This work is expanded in his role as founding executive director for the USP Health Policy Institute.

Having served as owner and medical director for several long-term care facilities, he is well versed in the needs of residents in such facilities. He continues to be active as a clinician and medical director through his involvement in a PACE (Program for All-inclusive Care) in Philadelphia.
